A city is never just one thing – it is layers of people, history, and movement existing together.

This piece features O’ Neill’s pub which is housed in a former 18th-century bank building. This pub retains many of the original features of the building, including high ceilings, wood panelling, and snug seating areas that give it a traditional Dublin-pub feel.

This artwork is part of Layers of Dublin, a series exploring the iconic places of Dublin and the people who shape them.

Each composition in this series layers figures and structures to symbolise the overlapping narratives that define Dublin: tradition and modernity, landscape and community.
