A city is never just one thing – it is layers of people, history, and movement existing together.

The Quays Bar is one of the most well-known and atmospheric pubs in Dublin, located in the heart of Temple Bar It is especially known for its unique interior and beautiful façade, one a Georgian merchant’s townhouse.

Part of my ‘Layers of Dublin’ series, this piece depicts The Quays Bar overlaid with a hand holding a pint of Guinness – depicting the human aspect bringing colour and life to buildings and places.

This artwork is part of Layers of Dublin, a series exploring the iconic places of Dublin and the people who shape them.

Each composition in this series layers figures and structures to symbolise the overlapping narratives that define Dublin: tradition and modernity, landscape and community.
