Snapshots of Dublin – from the Campanile to St. Patrick’s Tower (Print)

75.00

Medium: Giclée Print on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper

Size: 40cm x 60cm

Framing: unframed, shipped in cardboard tube with artist bio enclosed

‘Snapshots of Dublin’ is the first in the Snapshots series which was shown for the first time at Art Source 2019 in the RDS in Dublin. The idea for the Snapshots series has developed from my interest in the built environment and the rich tapestry of history which is embedded within each and every building, street and city.

I paint using clean lines and strong colours. These bold blocks of colour suit the subject of largely urban environments, taking ‘snapshots’ of views which are the familiar evocative pieces that make up the jigsaw of the world we inhabit.

This snapshots piece features the following places from left to right, top to bottom:

  • The Campanile (Trinity College), Trinity college front gate, The Customs House, Mary St. Dome
  • Georgian Door, Dublin Liberties, Poolbeg, Canal Lock
  • Bachelor’s Walk, Leinster House, Olympia Theatre, Market Bar
  • Trinity Clock, Georgian Lamp, Stephens Green Church, Liberty Hall
  • Dublin bin, Guinness Brewery, City Hall, Temple Bar
  • The Four Courts, The Royal College of Surgeons, James Joyce Bridge, St Patrick’s Tower
