This print features O’ Donoghue’s Bar – one of the best-known traditional Irish music pubs in Dublin. Dating back to 1789, the distinctive black and white façade of O’ Donoghue’s has become a familiar and welcome sight in the heart of Dublin.
A number of my ‘Snapshots of Dublin’ paintings feature this bar, so just use the search box too see other pieces featuring O’ Donoghue’s.
‘Snapshots of Dublin’ is the first in the Snapshots series which was shown for the first time at Art Source 2019 in the RDS in Dublin. The idea for the Snapshots series has developed from my interest in the built environment and the rich tapestry of history which is embedded within each and every building, street and city.
I paint using clean lines and strong colours. These bold blocks of colour suit the subject of largely urban environments, taking ‘snapshots’ of views which are the familiar evocative pieces that make up the jigsaw of the world we inhabit.
23cm x 23cm mounted fine art print on archival-quality paper. The print comes wrapped in plastic sleeve with artist bio and signature on reverse.
